Something not working?

Answers to most things

How does it decide how many of something I need?

Every item carries three numbers: a rate per day or per trip, an optional spare, and a ceiling. Underwear is one a day plus one spare. The ceiling is what stops a three week trip asking you for twenty one pairs. You can change all three for any item.

I changed a quantity and then changed my dates. Did it overwrite me?

No. A quantity you set by hand is never recomputed silently. When the dates change the app asks once whether to recalculate or keep what you have.

Why is the forecast not updating?

Everything in the app works offline except the forecast. When there is no connection the last forecast is shown with the time it was fetched. Reopen the trip once you are online and it refreshes.

My trip is months away and the weather looks generic.

It is. Real forecasts only reach about sixteen days ahead. Beyond that the app shows typical weather for that place at that time of year and labels it as such. It will never show you an invented forecast.

Why did it not warn me about something?

Twelve rules run against the forecast, eight of them reading the weather, and at most five appear at once, ranked by how much they matter. A rule also stays quiet if a list you already chose covers it, matched by name as well as by category, so an umbrella, a brolly and a rain jacket all count as the same thing.

I dismissed a suggestion and want it back.

Pull down to refresh the trip. Dismissed advice returns only if the forecast changes enough to raise it again.

Why only one trip on the free plan?

Your first trip is free, with every list included, and it stays yours to read after it ends. Every trip after that comes with Pro, a single payment and never a subscription. Deleting your free trip doesn't bring it back, and taking the same trip again for a new journey comes with Pro too.

I paid and got a new phone. How do I get Pro back?

Settings, then Restore Purchases. Pro is tied to the Apple or Google account you bought it with, so it comes back on any device signed into that account. It is one payment, so there is nothing to renew and nothing to cancel.

What does sync actually copy?

Your trips, active and archived, with everything you have packed in them. The hotels, flights, transport and contacts on each one. Your own lists, and every change you have made to any list, including the counts and the rules that work them out. Saved templates too.

Two things stay behind on purpose. The weather it downloaded, because the app can fetch that again for nothing and moving it would spend your storage for no reason. And this device's own settings, the theme and the temperature scale, which stay the business of the device you set them on.

Can I sync between my iPhone and my Android phone?

No, and it is not on the roadmap. Sync runs through your own iCloud or your own Google Drive, so it works between your Apple devices or between your Android devices. Bridging the two would mean us running a server and holding an account for you, which would end the promise that we store nothing.

How do I delete everything?

Delete the app. Nothing is held anywhere else. If you had sync on, also remove the app's data from iCloud or Google Drive in your own account settings.

Which versions do I need?

iOS 26 or later on iPhone, and Android 12 or later. An iPad version is coming, but it is not out yet.

Reporting a problem

Email hello@allineed.app and include four things: what you did, what happened, what you expected instead, and your app and system version from Settings. A screenshot is worth more than a description.

Please do not send your packing list. We cannot see it, we do not want it, and a description is always enough to work out what went wrong.

Asking for something new

Feature requests go to the same address and every one is read. The most useful ones describe the trip that went wrong rather than the feature you have in mind, because that usually points at a better answer than the one either of us started with.

Privacy

What the app does and does not send is set out in full on the privacy page. The short version is that it has no server and no account, and your trips never leave your phone.
